GCPS Reopening and Recovery Plan
The GCPS Reopening and Recovery Plan emphasizes how the school system will ensure continuity of services, including but not limited to services to address students' academic needs and students' and staff's social, emotional, mental health, and other needs. The plan also incorporates how the school system will maintain the health and safety of students, educators, and school system staff.

Garrett County Public Schools will conduct a Synchronous Virtual Learning Day (live instruction) Wed, Jan 25, 2023. On Thu, Jan 26, 2023, there will not be a virtual day. If a change to the normal operating schedule is required, it will be announced as soon as possible. An Asynchronous Virtual Learning Day (no live instruction) will be conducted on Fri, Jan 27, 2023.

Students from Southern Garrett High School recently learned about investing through a stock market game and statewide competition. This was a 10-week program that allowed students the opportunity to invest in three different markets. The top team from Southern finished in 11th place out of 886 teams statewide.
