The Superintendent-appointed Northern Area Advisory Committee will present its report to the Board of Education and the Superintendent of Schools at a public hearing. The public hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in the Northern Middle School cafeteria as a part of the regularly scheduled Board of Education meeting. The public will have the opportunity to comment after the presentation. Only comments pertaining to the Northern Area Proposal will be accepted at the 6:00 p.m. portion of the January 14th meeting.
Speakers at the meeting will be limited to three (3) minutes each. In addition to limiting their comments pertaining to the Superintendent’s Northern Area Proposal, speakers are expected to follow the protocol set forth for Board meetings. Topics excluded from Public Comment include:
Individual personnel issues
Comments identifying individual students or staff members
Matters that are on appeal or may be appealed or have been appealed
Advertising or solicitation for products and/or services
The Superintendent is expected to make her recommendation to the Board of Education during the February 11, 2025, Board meeting. The Board is expected to act upon this recommendation during the March 11, 2025, meeting.
Of note, the January Board meeting will start earlier than usual to accommodate the public hearing. The executive session will begin at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, and the public session will begin at 4:00 p.m.
