Hi, I am the principal of Grantsville Elementary School.  I have worked in the education system for Garrett County Public Schools for 27 years.  I have taught in various elementary schools, served as administrator for Friendsville Elementary school for 1 year and Grantsville Elementary School for the past 6 years.  In my free time I enjoy watching hummingbirds and reading. 

Grantsville has implemented a trauma-informed care approach and addresses students' needs in holistic ways, taking into account their relationships, self-regulation, academic competence, and physical and emotional well-being.   

I support all students to feel safe and nurtured (physically, socially, emotionally, and academically) to achieve their fullest potential.  I challenge students and staff to communicate openly and become risk-takers through the building of a strong sense of community within the classroom.  At Grantsville Elementary, everyone will be encouraged to persevere and solve problems through academic, social, and or personal challenges, while individuals demonstrate compassion, empathy and acceptance of others.
