Mrs. Erica Foley

I am excited to return to Swan Meadow as a Teaching Principal and K-2 Teacher! I began my teaching career in 2003 as the 3rd-5th grade ELA teacher at Swan Meadow and a Math Resource teacher at Broad Ford Elementary before serving as the full-time 3rd-5th grade teacher at Swan Meadow for 12 years and a Literacy Coach for six years. Having spent most of my career at Swan Meadow, I understand the unique environment Swan Meadow provides and the challenges our school has faced over the last two decades. I am committed to working alongside our students, families, staff, community, and district administrators to preserve the unique culture and heritage of Swan Meadow while working to make our school sustainable for years to come.

I grew up in nearby Preston County, WV where I currently live with my husband and three children. We are actively involved in our church, 4-H, and attending our children’s numerous sporting events. As a family, we enjoy traveling and cheering on the Mountaineers.

Strong family and community involvement and service to others have been long-standing traditions at Swan Meadow. This commitment is evident in our annual Harvest Sale, Kids Shopping for Kids food drive, community Christmas program, Valentine Love gifts, and annual Spring Sprucing events. At Swan Meadow, we strive to help students meet their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally and become positive role models who serve others. Family involvement is key to achieving these goals. I encourage all families to be actively involved in school activities and collaborate with staff to problem-solve any concerns that arise.
