Senior Kevin Shipway and junior Jadyn Skipper were recognized as RAM (Random Acts of Maturity) Students of the Month for April and May.
Shipway was nominated by his Unified Track coaches Megan Sgaggerro and Andi Sessa for being respectful and courteous as a member of the Unified Track team. "Kevin heard Mrs. Sessa and myself talking about the need for a male partner on the Unified Track Team. He came to me and said he would be willing to help. He let us know he wouldn't be able to attend some practices due to JROTC, but he would help as much as possible," Sgagerro said. "He originally was just helping with the team, but he was doing a great job so Mrs. Sessa and I decided to see if he would join the team. He agreed and he has been a vital member of our team ever since. He works great with all the students on the team and he was the positive male partner we were looking for."
Skipper was chosen by her theatre teacher Erin White for displaying cooperation and teamwork. "Jadyn has the best attitude. She cheers on her fellow actors and fully understands that theatre is a team effort. She lifts up those who struggle and keeps company with those who need a friend. Recently, in addition to appearing as at least six onstage characters and participating on the team that manipulated the most complicated set piece in the show, Jadyn recruited her dad to motorize the revolve for The Wind in the Willows," White said. "She shows up at set construction smiling and ready one hundred percent of the time. Jadyn is an exceptional human being, and we are lucky to have her as part of our theatre family. " The RAM Student of the Month program recognizes students who exemplify the character and behavioral traits that promote Respect, Active, Mature and Safe. The RAM student is awarded $5 in Rams Bucks and a free movie pass to Garrett 8 Cinemas, the sponsor of the RAM Student of the Month program.
