On Monday, August 1st, 2022, and again on Tuesday, August 9th, 2022, newly assigned law enforcement officers in the county will receive tours of Garrett County Public Schools (GCPS) facilities. This includes officers from the Maryland State Police, Maryland Natural Resources Police, Garrett County Sheriff’s Office, and the Oakland City Police Department.
Each of these days, numerous emergency vehicles may be parked outside of school buildings at any given time. The public is advised that unless additional information to the contrary is provided by GCPS, there is no cause for alarm.
