The Garrett County Public Schools (GCPS) system was made aware of an alleged safety concern over the weekend towards Southern Garrett Middle School. The Garrett County Sheriff’s Office was contacted and began an investigation immediately. At no time was the school or student population in danger based on their investigation.

GCPS encourages students and families to contact the SafeSchools Tip Line regarding school safety concerns. Anonymous reports can be submitted by calling the tip line (1-833-MD-B-SAFE/1-833-632-7233), completing an online form (https://www.p3campus.com/tipform.aspx?ID=5008#), or downloading the free app from the App Store or Google Play.
