Principles of Competitive Manufacturing I
Students will be introduced to the fundamental concepts and professional standards of the machine industry, including safety, precision measurement, milling, grinding, industry equipment as well as the vocabulary and terminology of the profession.
Principles of Competitive Manufacturing II
Students will continue with the concepts and professional standards of the machining industry, including safety, precision measurement, milling, grinding, industry equipment as well as the vocabulary and terminology of the profession.
Machine Operations I
Students increase the knowledge and skills they have gained in the Principles of Competitive Manufacturing by performing basic process planning, set-up, and operation of common classes of machine tools such as turning, drilling, or surface grinding machines.
Machine Operations II
Students continue to increase their knowledge and skills by performing basic process planning, set-up, and operation of common classes of machine tools, such as turning, milling, drilling, or surface grinding machines. Note: Students completing this pathway will have the opportunity to earn NIMS certification credentials.
Machine Tool III - M
Machine Tool III introduces more advanced machine operations. Performance at this level is expected to bring students to job level readiness. The third year may include an internship experience.
